One of the Pocono Mountain’s biggest wine festivals happening over Father’s Day weekend…
The Wally Wine Fest will be held from June 13th to 15th at the Silver Birches Resort in Hawley, PA. This event has been held annually for the past few years (I think 2022 was the first maybe?) and it stands out from many other local wine festivals for a few reasons. If drinking wine is relevant to you or a loved one’s interests, pay attention because you or they might like this.

Wally Wine Fest tickets are on sale now and available in a variety of price points:
- General Admission ($40 in advance/$50 at the door) – Includes a Wally Wine Fest sampling glass and 15 wine sample tickets
- VIP ($75) – Includes a Wally Wine Fest sampling glass, 25 wine sample tickets, and early Noon entry to the event
- Platinum ($200) – Includes a wine dinner at Grant’s Woods on June 13th, the Wally Wine Fest sampling glass, entry to Wally Wine Fest on June 14th with early Noon entry, and 25 wine sample tickets
- Designated Driver ($20)
Each year, there are several wine festivals held across the 570 area code. The Wine Fest Season unofficially kicks off in January with Wine Under The Waves and ends with the Montage Mountain Wine Festival in October. Wally Fest is smack in the middle of the 570 wine festival calendar, giving attendees the opportunity to sip and sample wine with Lake Wallenpaupack in the background. There are far worse ways to spend a weekend.
I mentioned that Wally Wine Fest stands out from most other such events hosted in Northeast Pennsylvania for multiple reasons. Having the event hosted at a luxury resort on the shores of one of the area’s most beautiful lakes is one such reason. Another? The variety of wines usually featured.
I routinely attend many of the vino festivals held across NEPA each year. For the most part, these things all feature most of the same vendors. The majority of the local wineries are regular participants in these events, and if you love drinking local wine as much as I do, this isn’t a bad thing. But if you’re looking for labels from outside the NEPA area, the pickings are slim.
That’s not the case at Wally Wine Fest.
While a few local wineries do participate, the majority of the wines available for sampling and purchase at Wally Wine Fest are from all over the world. This, in my opinion, is the biggest selling point for attending. It’s a fantastic opportunity to put some new-to-you fermented grape juice in your face.
And if you need more convincing, there will also be a bunch of local food and craft vendors, plus live music. Not a bad deal, in my opinion.
