The popular Taylor brewhouse will host an impressive gathering of craft beer brewers later in July…
Hops on the Hill 3 returns to The Union Craft House in Taylor on Saturday, July 25, bringing together craft breweries from across Pennsylvania and Vermont for an afternoon of beer sampling, smoked food, live music, and brewery representation.
The festival runs from 1 to 4 p.m., with VIP admission beginning at noon. General admission is $35, while VIP tickets are $45. (Eventbrite adds its standard service fees at checkout.) Guests can also expect games, giveaways, and a smoked food menu throughout the afternoon. The event is open to guests 21 and older, and because parking at the restaurant is limited, organizers are encouraging attendees to carpool.
Union Craft House has already announced seven participating breweries, with more expected in the coming weeks. Confirmed so far are von C Brewing Co., von Trapp Brewing, Benny Brewing Co., Rotunda Brewing Company, Zero Gravity Beer, Well Crafted Beer Company, and New Trail Brewing Company. The event poster promises representation from more than a dozen breweries, making this year’s festival the largest yet.
It’s a strong early lineup. New Trail Brewing Company has become one of Pennsylvania’s best-known craft breweries, while Benny Brewing Co. gives the festival a hometown connection from nearby Wilkes-Barre. von C Brewing Co. brings its lager-focused lineup from Norristown, while Rotunda Brewing Company and Well Crafted Beer Company round out the Pennsylvania contingent. Vermont is represented by von Trapp Brewing, known for its Austrian-inspired lagers, and Zero Gravity Beer, one of Burlington’s longtime craft brewing standouts.
The festival is a natural fit for Union Craft House, which has steadily built a reputation as one of the region’s destinations for craft beer. The Taylor restaurant features more than 100 bottled and canned beers, 16 rotating draft lines, and a “100 Club” that encourages customers to explore beers from around the world. It isn’t a brewery, but it has become one of the area’s most reliable places to discover one.
The kitchen follows the same philosophy. Recent specials have included smoked brisket club sandwiches, smoked brisket elote tacos, brisket mac and cheese, pulled pork tacos, Sicilian-style pizza, and loaded nachos. The menu leans into hearty, approachable food designed to pair naturally with a wide range of beers, and Hops on the Hill’s smoked food menu should fit comfortably within that identity.
That combination has helped Union Craft House carve out a niche in Taylor’s dining scene. Situated between Scranton, Old Forge, and Moosic, the restaurant has become more than a neighborhood craft beer bar. Through events like Hops on the Hill, brewery tap takeovers, and an ever-changing beer selection, it has established itself as a gathering place for local craft beer enthusiasts and brewery partners alike.
