The popular Pocono resort is hosting its wine and food festival for the second year…
Kalahari Resorts Poconos (Pocono Summit) has announced the second annual Kalahari Food and (Not Just) Wine Festival will take place on April 13th. The event will be hosted at the luxury African-themed indoor waterpark, featuring food from the resort’s various restaurants and local wineries and breweries. Tickets are on sale now.

As is typical with wine fests, the tickets come in a general admission and VIP variety:
- General Admission ($95) – Gets you in from 12pm to 4pm and includes a souvenir wine glass
- VIP Admission ($150) – Includes complimentary valet parking, entry into a “meet and greet brunch session” from 11am to 12pm, entry into the festival from 12pm to 4pm, priority seating at cooking demonstrations, a swag bag, and a souvenir wine glass.
Northeast Pennsylvania’s wine festival season is nearly upon us. While January’s Wine Under The Waves is the unofficial start of this magnificent season, things don’t get into full swing until the Spring and Summer. The Pocono Mountains feature some of the most popular wine fests in the 570, the Kalahari Food and (Not Just) Wine Festival and the Wally Wine Fest being two of the biggest.
The Kalahari Food and (Not Just) Wine Festival is only in its second year, but that hasn’t stopped it from already establishing itself as a premier event. That’s thanks in large part to the fact that the Kalahari resort is arguably the most popular Pocono destination, the property is stunning and an ideal wine festival setting, and it spotlights lots of local vendors.
To give you more of a sense of what to expect from this thing, allow me to quote from the official event description:
Prepare yourself for a one-of-a-kind culinary adventure as you uncover the best of Kalahari dining. Indulge in unique food samplings from each of Kalahari’s signature restaurants, sip on wine, beer, and spirits from the Northeast’s top brands, and experience the most exciting festivities around!
Admission to the event guarantees unique food sampling from Kalahari signature restaurants and tastings from 75+ local and national beverage vendors.
While I totally get that the price point for the Kalahari Food and (Not Just) Wine Festival is a bit steep, if you can swing it, it’s really not a bad deal for everything that’s included. To put the $95 general admission fee into better context, admission into an “average” local wine fest will usually cost around $40, feature far fewer vendors, and you’ll likely have to use porta-potties.
This event is being held at a luxury resort in the Pocono Mountains, showcases a wide selection of NEPA breweries and wineries, and gives you access to indoor plumbing. All of that costs extra but, I think, is likely worth it.
