Brews and Brats 2025 Happens This Weekend

Bratwurst and beer to support a good cause? Deal…

On Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 4:00 PM, community members will gather at the Newfoundland Fire Hall for Brews & Brats, the Newfoundland Rotary Club’s annual celebration of local beer, bratwursts, live music, and good‐hearted fellowship. The event is one of those modest jewels in Wayne County’s social calendar: simple, homey, satisfying, and for a cause.

Tickets are on sale now ($25 in advance, $30 at the door).

A Bit of History

While Brews & Brats may seem like a casual fall barbecue with beer, it’s far more than that. Previously held at the Greene‐Dreher Firehouse and organized by the Newfoundland Rotary Club, the event has become a local tradition, now in its ninth year.

The Rotary Club of Newfoundland itself has deep roots in this area. Chartered in 1950, the club has for decades supported local causes, from youth programs to infrastructure, always guided by its motto of Service Above Self. Over the years, Brews & Brats has become one of the more visible ways the club connects—with funds raised going back into community programs.

Why Should You Go?

Good Food & Locally Crafted Beer
I can tell you from personal experience that beer and bratwurst taste better when consumed within a local firehouse. I can’t explain it, but it’s 100% truth.

Supporting Community
Rotary isn’t just a name—this is local money, local energy, local people. When you buy a ticket, eat a brat, sip a beer, you are helping support programs in Newfoundland and the surrounding area. It’s civic engagement wrapped in flavor.

Low‐Stress, High Joy
It’s outdoors, it’s early evening, it’s real. No pretense, no huge crowds, just people sharing food, brews, and conversation. If you’ve been longing for something genuine, local, and delicious, this fits the bill.

Fall’s Perfect Ambience
Mid‐September in Northeastern Pennsylvania is usually golden—cool enough for a jacket, warm enough for dining outside. This is sausage weather, my friends.

Meeting Neighbors, Meeting Causes
Events like this are about food and drink, yes—but also about seeing who else is around, learning about what the Rotary is doing, maybe getting inspired or involved. It’s part meal, part metaphor: that building community matters.

See you there?

If you ask me, events like Brews & Brats are more valuable than many of the polished festivals you see in bigger towns. There’s something honest here: beer brewed a few towns over, sausages grilled by folks who know what fat and spice should do when they meet heat, and people who show up not because it’s trending but because it’s their community.

If you enjoy beer, if you enjoy brats, but most importantly if you enjoy connection—between food, flavor, and the people around—you should plan to go. Bring a friend, bring good humor, maybe bring a lawn chair. Let the day offer simple pleasures: the hiss of the grill, sipping beers out of plastic cups, the soft evening light, and the knowledge that your ticket helped strengthen the NEPA community.
