The Aged to Perfection event will help fund the 50th year of free Nutcracker performances…
Do you wanna drink some wine, much on some “gourmet bites”, and help support the Scranton ballet scene? If all that sounds good to you (and you have $100 to spend on each ticket), the Ballet Theatre of Scranton has something you’ll want to check out. It’s called “Aged to Perfection” and it’s everything I just described.

The official name of the thing is “Aged to Perfection: A Wine Event Celebrating 50 Years of Nutcracker”.
The event will be held at the Lace Venue by Epicurean at Lace Villiage (1315 Meylert Ave, Scranton) on April 27th, from 3pm to 5pm. Tickets are on sale now for a cost of $100 each, with the proceeds helping to fund the Ballet Theatre of Scranton’s annual free performances of The Nutcracker.
But don’t take my word for it. Here’s the official event description from the Aged to Perfection Facebook event page:
Join us for an elegant afternoon of wine, celebration, and nostalgia as we toast to the upcoming 50th anniversary of Ballet Theatre of Scranton’s beloved gift of the Nutcracker. Sip on specially selected wines that pair perfectly with the occasion, enjoy curated gourmet bites, and experience the timeless charm of this cherished tradition. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur, a Nutcracker enthusiast, or simply looking for a sophisticated afternoon out, this special event is one you won’t want to miss!
Obviously, this isn’t for everyone. A $100 entrance fee for a two-hour event – on a Sunday afternoon – might be a hard pass for a lot of people. If you’re looking to guzzle wine and get day drunk with your friends, maybe stick to winefests. However, if you’re interested in throwing some money at a good cause and, as a bonus, having the opportunity to drink some fine wine and sample some good food, Aged to Perfection sounds like a pretty good deal.
I haven’t come across any information regarding the exact list of wines and dishes that will be served to Aged to Perfection attendees. I have to assume that all of it will be of high quality considering the demo this shindig is targeting. But, again, if such details will make or break your decision to attend, this likely isn’t for you.
It’s about supporting the Scranton ballet scene.
