The seasonal cidery and winery has set a May opening date…
Ritter’s Winery and Cidery (Lake Ariel, PA) announced it will open for the 2025 season on May 17th. News of the opening is surely welcome news to the cidery’s legions of devoted fans as the place has been closed since the end of December. Its opening is another important marker on the trail that leads to Summer in the 570 area code.

For anyone who’s never been to Ritter’s, I would certainly recommend that you make a point to visit it at least once this season. This fine establishment has been an institution in Northeast Pennsylvania for decades and it offers a very impressive selection of ciders, wines, beer, baked goods, and fresh produce.
To quote from the announcement posted to the Ritter’s Winery and Cidery Facebook page:
Join us at the winery where we’ll be featuring our delicious wines, hard ciders and craft beers, ALL on tap, winery fresh foods and our Kaden’s Kernels concessions!
To kick off the festivities on Saturday, we welcome back Wade Preston LIVE 1:30-4:30 and Sunday, it’s Alex The Crooner LIVE 1:30-4:30!
Join us at The Shoppes at Ritter’s Farm for fresh baked goods including THE BEST apple cider donuts, pies, fresh pressed apple cider, produce, eggs, fresh jarred goods, specialty foods and unique, one of a kind, Home & Garden decor (and much MUCH more)!
Don’t forget to grab a bottle of wine to go in our wine and cheese specialty shoppe or take it upstairs to enjoy in our Mid-Century Modern Tasting Parlor.
I stop into Ritter’s a few times each year and I fully intend to continue that tradition into 2025. This is one of those places that has, for a long time, exemplified so much of what makes NEPA such an amazing culinary destination. Quality-crafted cider, delicious wines, and a vast array of fresh-made delicacies, most notably the Apple Cider Donuts.
I should also mention that the cidery and winery is located in Lake Ariel, one of the more stunning vistas the Pocono Mountains has to offer. Between the scenery, all of the fantastic nearby restaurants, and what Ritter’s has to offer, you’d be an idiot if you weren’t at least a little excited about this place opening in less than a month.
