Their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich is elite…
At least three times a week, I get my breakfast from Electic City Roasting at its ECR Corners location in Dunmore. I don’t go there because it’s the closest coffee shop to me. It’s not. As I drive there, I pass Starbucks, Dunkin, McDonald’s, Sheetz, Burger King, and Wendy’s. I get my breakfast from Electic City Roasting because the coffee and breakfast sandwich there is better than at any of those places I drive by on my way to their shop.
It’s worth the extra time and distance.

My go-to order is a 16oz black coffee and a bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. That costs about $9 and it’s worth every penny. The sandwich is freshly made and the coffee is high quality and freshly brewed. I’m sure the fast food places that I pass without a second thought offer something that’s cheaper but nothing they have can compete with what Electic City Roasting has on offer.
Electric City Roasting has several specialty ground coffee offerings and I don’t know which of those – if any – they serve at their drive-through in Dunmore. Whatever it is…it’s good. The flavor is bold and flavorful and 16 ounces of the stuff is enough to jumpstart my body. It’s honestly the best cup of coffee that I’ve had in a long ass time and certainly the best I’ve had anywhere in the Northeast Pennsylvania area.
Now let’s talk about the BEC Bagel.

Bacon, egg, and cheese stuffed between two halves of a fresh, warm, everything bagel is, for me, the perfect breakfast food. While not the healthiest option on Electric City’s menu (you can order a Parfait of Greek yogurt, honey, fresh berries, and granola if that’s more your speed), with where I’m at in life, I need the carbs and grease contained within that sandwich.
If you live anywhere near Dunmore Corners, I implore you to grab your next cup of morning coffee and a BEC Bagel from Electric City Roasting. The location there has a drive-through and you likely won’t have to wait in a line anywhere near as long as McDonald’s or Starbucks. As an added bonus, you’ll be supporting a local NEPA business and that, along with the caffeine from the coffee, should make you feel good.
If you don’t live close enough to Dunmore to make that location a part of your morning ritual, there might be a different ECR location near you. I’ve only ever gone to the Dunmore spot, so I don’t know if the other locations offer the same menu but it’s certainly worth checking out.
